Two year old filly BHELEYF scored the first win of her career at
Brighton on 31st May - it was the first leg of a first Heart of the South double, so it was a fantastic day!
BHELEYF is trained in Lambourn by Joe Tuite, and Joe has
always thought a lot of our filly. She was a particularly early two year old and ran her first race on day 1 of the new flat season. That form has been franked by Ceiling Kitty, 2 lengths in front of
us that day, who has gone on to win twice and more recently to win the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, On BHELEYF's secong outing she got tired on the heavy ground but this time she really made her
experience count with a very professional display.
She went off second favourite behing the Hannon runner
BOLEYN, but our jockey Harry Bentley got first run and went a couple of lengths clear. BOLEYN ran on really well up the hill but our filly stuck her neck out and hung on to win with just inches to
spare!
Harry Bentley was delighted with her and reports that she
will get 6 furlongs too, so we will have plenty of options once the handicapper gives her a mark at the beginning of July.
