Friday 18th
May
SHAMAHAN has been declared at Doncaster
tomorrow - it will be his first run in 9 months as he hasn't run
since winning at Windsor in August. We have been waiting and
waiting for better ground and he missed his intended first race at
Salisbury three weeks ago when it was very soft. It isn't ideal
going all the way to Doncaster, but with the other options for him
this week being at Leicester and Haydock, we are forced to travel.
Hopefully next time we will find him a race closer to
home!
It is
going to be a busy week, LIGHTNING SPIRIT (Brighton) and IMPERIAL
RUBY (Kempton) are entered on Tuesday, LIGHTNING SPIRIT is also
entered at Chepstow on Wednesday.
JUPITER STORM will today be entered at
Goodwood on Thursday, a handicap over 9 furlongs. He has been well
since Newmarket. SOUTH CAPE will be entered on Monday for an
amateur riders race at Newbury next Saturday when Hayley Moore will
ride.
|
|
Tuesday 15th
May
INTERAKT ran well at Ascot on Saturday but
after leading most of the way was passed by a few in the final
furlong. It has been a good week for her though and she will not
run for a fortnight or so. She has been put up 4lb to
76.
GOOD
LUCK CHARM was disappointing at Windsor last night - it looked like
he didn't stay the 10 furlong trip which he was trying for the
first time. The very soft ground would not have helped
though.
IL
PORTICO has been declared on the all weather at Lingfield on
Wednesday.
We had
a good trip to Weatherbys Racing Centre and Towcester Racecourse
yesterday. Our next owner event will be held in conjunction with
Gary Moore's Open Day in September.
|
|
Friday 11th
May
INTERAKT won her 5th race yesterday evening
at Yarmouth! Our mare gets better and better and at the age of 5
has become a very good horse! She is so effective in the soft
conditions and if she is in good form tomorrow morning, she will
run at Ascot tomorrow afternoon.
IL
PORTICO bypasses the jumping this weekend and will go to Lingfield
on Wednesday. SHAMAHAN will be entered on Monday for Doncaster on
Saturday.
|
|
Thursday
10th May
IMPERIAL RUBY put in a much improved effort
at Kempton yesterday evening - he still has a lot to learn but he
is going the right way and we expect further improvement next time.
Mich Channon and jockey Sam Hitchcott were both
pleased.
INTERAKT goes to Yarmouth today with a
great chance, she has also been declared at Ascot on Saturday, just
in case the meeting at Yarmouth is
abandoned.
IL
PORTICO has been given a late entry at Warwick over hurdles on
Saturday. The flat card was switched to a hurdle card (due to a
waterlogged flat track) yesterday. Gary will have to decide whether
we run at Warwick, or Plumpton on Sunday (now heavy) or on the all
weather next week.
|
|
Wednesday
9th May
SOUTH
CAPE has been given a clean bill of health following his dramatic
pulling up at Lingfield last Thursday. Gary thinks maybe he got a
mouthful of fibresand or just lost his footing but he seems
absolutely fine and the vet can find nothing wrong with him. He
will be aimed for a race at Newbury on
18th.
JUPITER STORM threw away his chances at
Newmarket on Sunday with some very coltish behaviour and he pulled
far too hard on the way to the start and in the race. Gary will
work on getting him to settle better before next time, but
hopefully now that he has had a run he will have lost a bit of that
'freshness' anyway! He goes to Epsom on Derby
day.
IMPERIAL RUBY runs at Kempton tonight. Mick
Channon still thinks he has a bit to learn but we're hoping for a
much better run than last time. INTERAKT is declared at Yarmouth
tomorrow and must have a great chance if the meeting goes ahead -
she also has an entry at Ascot on Saturday, just in
case.
IL
PORTICO is in good form since his run at Lingfield last week, he is
entered over hurdles at Plumpton on Sunday. 2 shares remain
available at just £250 each! GOOD LUCK CHARM is entered at Windsor
on Monday and we're hoping he can go one place better than last
week's second!
New
filly 'MARMALADE' has settled in well at Cisswood - there are some
lovely pictures of her on the 'shares for sale'
page.
|
|
Friday 4th
May
SOUTH
CAPE was pulled up at Lingfield yesterday after George Baker felt
he had a 'wobble' mid race. The vets thought he may have had a
fibrillating heart but he seemed fine after the race. The vets will
continue to investigate.
IL
PORTICO ran a really encouraging race on his reappearance - he
travelled very strongly and looked like he was going to challenge
coming round the final bend but eventually tired as we expected he
would. Still, he wasn't beaten far. He will come on a huge amount
for this and we can't wait to see him out again
soon!
JUPITER STORM has been declared at
Newmarket on Sunday with Ryan Moore on board. The going is soft but
the weather is expected to dry out - if it rains again Gary may
reconsider.
IMPERIAL RUBY has been entered on the all
weather at Kempton on Wednesday.
We
have LIGHTNING SPIRIT (Bath) and INTERAKT (Windsor) entered on
Monday, at the moment it is soft, heavy in places at Bath and heavy
at Windsor but both are starting to dry out so we will keep a close
eye on the going reports. Declarations take place tomorrow
morning.
|
|
Thursday 3rd
May
GOOD
LUCK CHARM ran exceptionally well at Kempton on Tuesday evening,
finishing second but looking like the winner if there had been
another furlong to run. We thought the trip would be short for him
(a mile) but he showed he can still be competitive at this trip.
However over another furlong or two next time he will be even
better. He was also entered at Goodwood on Saturday but will not go
as the race comes a bit soon.
We are
desperately watching the weather but it looks likely that the going
at Salisbury will be too soft on Sunday for our two
horses.
IL
PORTICO and SOUTH CAPE both run at Lingfield this afternoon - the
meeting has been transferred from waterlogged Folkestone. We didn't
expect to see either of them out on the all weather but Il Portico
does have a win to his name on the aw at Wolverhampton. He is
likely to need the run after having been off the track for so long
and this is a stepping stone to a return to hurdling. SOUTH CAPE is
a nine time winner, but he is 9 now and we are waiting to see over
his next couple of runs whether he want to continue
racing.
|
|
Monday 30th
April
GOOD
LUCK CHARM goes to Kempton tomorrow evening with Ryan Moore on
board - he is also entered at Goodwood on Saturday but as it looks
like raining all week, he goes to Kempton.
JUPITER STORM and SHAMAHAN are entered at
Salisbury on Sunday, JS also has an entry at Newmarket on Sunday in
case the ground is better there. Gary is leaning towards sending
DYNAMIC IDOL to Guernsey on Monday for a mile six flat handicap. He
had two winners at the meeting last year.
IL
PORTICO and SOUTH CAPE are entered at Folkestone on Thursday but
the meeting has been abandoned - it will be transferred to the all
weather at Lingfield instead and Gary will decide whether to run
our horses.
We
have a new horse! She is a very pretty 2 year old filly by DUKE OF
MARMALADE in training with Gary Moore - more details on the 'shares
for sale' page.
|
|
Saturday
28th April
With
rain forecast all week Gary plans to declare GOOD LUCK CHARM
tomorrow morning for Tuesday evening's race at Kempton. We didn't
really want to run on the all weather, but the horse is ready to go
and the weather is going against us for a run on the turf. The
horse looks so well.
TOBAGO
BAY is back cantering after a few weeks of trotting, he also looks
very well and happy.
FRUITY
O'ROONEY has moved to Framfield to begin his
holiday.
IL
PORTICO and SOUTH CAPE are entered at Folkestone on Thursday but
surely the meeting must be under threat with all the
rain.
|
|
Wednesday
25th April
INTERAKT ran a great first race of the
season to finish a close fourth at Windsor on Monday despite
conditions not suiting her. It looks like there will be further
improvement to come this year from our 4 time winning mare. BHELEYF
also ran a nice race, however she will need to learn to settle
better for next time. She is too quick out of the stalls for her
own good! Both horses are fine following their
races.
LIGHTNING SPIRIT has been declared at
Brighton tomorrow - she likes a bit of cut in the ground but we
wouldn't mind if it stopped raining now! Unfortunately it is too
soft for JUPITER STORM at Sandown on Friday. We have been looking
forward to this for ages so it is very frustrating, Gary will now
aim him for a 10f handicap at Salisbury on 6th when there is also a
race for SHAMAHAN.
SOUTH
CAPE is entered at Sandown on Friday but is unlikely to get in -
there is a race for him at Folkestone (where he has won before) on
3rd. MOHANAD is also entered at Sandown on Saturday for the bet365
handicap hurdle but is likely to run on the flat the following week
instead. Good Luck Charm will be entered for Goodwood on 5th
May.
|
|
Monday 23rd
April
FRUITY
O'ROONEY ran another heroic race to finish fifth in the Scottish
National at Ayr on Saturday. As usual he tried to lead throughout
and he got swallowed up in the closing stages but he ran another
very brave race and jumped the big fences really well. He is
absolutely fine and will now have a long
holiday!
IMPERIAL RUBY struggled at Newbury, running
his first race ever on heavy ground was not ideal and we'll be
hoping for a lot better next time
out.
We are
on weather watch - Folkestone (where GOOD LUCK CHARM is declared
tomorrow) is due for an inspection this afternoon. LIGHTNING SPIRIT
should be ok on soft ground at Brighton on Thursday, but JUPITER
STORM will not want it too soft at Sandown on Friday. He did his
last piece of work this morning and went very
well.
|
|
Friday 20th
April
Unfortunately we didn't make a purchase at
the Breeze Up Sales yesterday - the Shamardal filly we had our eye
on eventually went to Sheikh Mohamed for
£100,000!
FRUITY
O'ROONEY set off for Ayr at 9.30 this morning, the going at Ayr is
still good, good to soft in places with a few showers forecast. It
is an exciting but nerve-wracking time, and the Fruity owners will
probably be pleased when it is all over!
SHAMAHAN and JUPITER STORM worked this
morning (rather than on Saturday as usual) and both worked very
well. SHAMAHAN didn't work so well on Tuesday after overreaching
but he was brilliant this morning and will be ready to run very
soon.
LIGHTNING SPIRIT has been entered at
Brighton next Thursday.
|
|
Thursday
19th April
FRUITY
O'ROONEY has been declared at Ayr for Saturday's Scottish National
and thankfully so has the top weight Junior, which means Fruity has
only 10st 13lb to carry. If Junior had not been declared the
weights would have risen and over 4 miles on soft ground, the less
weight our horse has to carry, the better!
IMPERIAL RUBY has also been declared on
Saturday, he makes his debut in the 1 mile 3 furlong maiden at
Newbury. He is in good form and Martin Harley rides. It will be
fascinating to finally see him in action, Mick has been pleased
with him. Of course in this type of race you never know what you
might come up against, but our horse will learn a lot from the run
and we will learn a lot about him.
Eloise and
John are in Newmarket today, first going to see ROME at Warren
Place and then going to Tattersalls Breeze Up Sales to try to buy
another 2 year old. Watch this space!
|
|
Wednesday
18th April
MOHANAD ran very well for a long way at
Kempton yesterday before tiring in the closing stages. He will come
on for the run, and the way he jumps gives us plenty to dream about
for his novice chasing season.
All
being well IMPERIAL RUBY will be declared tomorrow for Newbury on
Saturday. INTERAKT and BHELEYF have been entered at Windsor on
Monday, with Harry Bentley booked to ride both. GOOD LUCK CHARM has
been entered at Folkestone on Tuesday with Tom Queally on
board.
|
|
Sunday 15th
April
MOHANAD has three entries, at Kempton
(Tuesday) and Cheltenham (Wednesday) over hurdles and at Newbury on
Friday on the flat. Plan A is Kempton, if the ground stays
reasonable.
SHAMAHAN has not been entered at Bath after
deiciding the meeting comes a week or two too
soon
|
|
Friday 13th
April
DYNAMIC IDOL was disappointing at Newton
Abbot yesterday - he was stuck on the inside on dead ground, but we
still would have hoped for a better performance. He is
proving to be inconsistent - a performance like last time at
Newbury would have seen him go very close.
MOHANAD is entered at Kempton on Tuesday
and Cheltenham on Wednesday, Sheena will wait and see where the
ground is most suitable before deciding where he
runs.
SHAMAHAN will tomorrow be entered for Bath
on Friday.
|
|
Wednesday
11th April
DYNAMIC IDOL has been declared at Newton
Abbot tomorrow, whether he runs will depend on overnight rainfall
as he doesn't want the ground soft. He ought to stand a good chance
if only it stays dry!SOUTH CAPE was not declared at Leicester on
Friday because Gary feels the race comes a week too
soon.
We are due a
really busy spell with lots of horses due to run in the coming
weeks - watch this space!
|
|
Tuesday 10th
April
Unfortunately RED YARN did not make her
hurdling debut over the weekend, Joe just wasn't happy with
her.
DYNAMIC IDOL is entered at Newton Abbot on
Thursday, SOUTH CAPE is entered at Leicester on Friday. Ryan Moore
is already jocked up and the ground is currently good to soft, so
everything is in his favour.
|
|
Saturday 7th
April
Lots
of owners were on the gallops at Cisswood this morning for 2nd lot,
when we saw Shamahan, Jupiter Storm, Lightning Spirit, South Cape
and Dynamic Idol in action. They all looked really well and JUPITER
STORM in particular stood out. He worked with Venetian View, who
was twice a winner last year at 2 (over 7 and 8 furlongs) and is
rated 85. Our horse was cruising and was desperate to go faster.
SHAMAHAN also looked well, he worked with very quick 5f sprinter
Fathom Five (once rated 100) and is now around 3 weeks away from a
run.
We are
looking into chartering a plane to fly owners and supporters to Ayr
for the Scottish National on 21st April when FRUITY O'ROONEY is an
intended runner. Please contact us for more
details.
|
|
Wednesday
4th April
Gary
Moore decided that today's race at Exeter comes a little soon for
DYNAMIC IDOL so he was not declared
and he has instead been entered at Fakenham on
Monday.
We had
a good JUPITER STORM stable visit yesterday, Tom Queally rode the
horse in a piece of fast work and was very pleased with him. He has
suggested starting off over 10 furlongs and the horse is pencilled
in for a visit to Sandown on 27th April for a 71-85 handicap. SOUTH
CAPE is ready for some entries and will run when the right race
comes up - hopefully with Ryan Moore on
board!
|
|
Monday 2nd
April
BHELEYF ran
a good first race on Saturday, finish fifth after racing very
freely and going wide on the bend. She was great out of the stalls
though, showed plenty of early speed and stayed on well at the end
of the race and jockey and trainer were pleased. She has come out
of the race very well and has a fantastic relaxed attitude, and she
will be one to follow in her coming
races.
DYNAMIC IDOL
has been entered at Exeter on Wednesday, he has come out of his
Newbury race so well that Gary is ready to run him again. RED YARN
will today be entered for maiden hurdles at Newton Abbot (Saturday)
and Plumpton (Sunday).
|
|
Friday 30th
March
2 year old
filly BHELEYF will be our first runner of the new flat season at
Kempton tomorrow. She lines up for the 5 furlong fillies maiden,
and all weather title challenging jockey
Luke Morris takes the ride. Joe
Tuite is quite excited about her and we are expecting a big
run.
JUPITER
STORM's regular rider Alan is delighted with his horse too - at the
moment he is going half speed up the gallops alongside another
horse and Alan says he feels fantastic!
Sir Henry
Cecil reports that ROME has made a good recovery from a cut to his
neck and is cantering away nicely.
|
|
Tuesday 27th
March
DYNAMIC IDOL
has been left on a mark of 98 following his excellent second at
Newbury on Friday. He surely must be winning soon following that
performance!
2 year old
filly BHELEYF has been entered at Kempton next Saturday, the first
day of the new flat season. She is in great form and it is very
exciting to have such an early 2 year
old.
|
|
Saturday
24th March
DYNAMIC IDOL
ran a really good race under Hayley Moore to finish second at
Newbury yesterday. He now has the 'full house' having been
ridden in races by all four Moore offspring, Ryan, Jamie, Josh and
now Hayley!
Mick Channon
is delighted with IMPERIAL RUBY, saying 'he's the best I've ever
had him'. The horse is scheduled to have his first race at Newbury
on 21st April in a 3 year old maiden over a mile. A clip of him
working last week is now on Mick's website
www.mickchannon.tv
|
|
Friday 23rd
March
Exciting
news about BHELEYF this week, our 2 year old filly trained by Joe
Tuite is a particularly early type and she is scheduled to be one
of the very first 2 year old runners on day 1 of the new flat
season. She looked so big and strong at this week's stable visit
and Joe is getting quite excited about her! The race is a 5 furlong
fillies maiden on 31st March at Kempton. INTERAKT also looked well
and is on track for a race at Brighton on their first meeting of
their season on 26th April. LIGHTNING SPIRIT is also pencilled in
that day for the classified stakes that her older brother THE
SHUFFLER won 2 years ago!
DYNAMIC IDOL
goes to Newbury this afternoon with each way chances. The 2 mile 3
furlong trip ought to suit him, as will the quicker ground. Hayley
Moore rides (it is a race for conditionals) and this will be
her first ride over hurdles. We think this will suit the horse, he
doesn't respond to brute strength and we think Hayley will be able
to cajole him into running a big race! Hayley is a very experienced
rider, having won on the flat and in point to points, and has the
advantage of knowing the horse well at
home.
MOHAHAD has
recovered from his knock and is pencilled in for either Kempton
(over hurdles) on 17th April or Newbury (on the flat) on 20th.
We still
have spaces available on our trip to Weatherbys and Towcester races
on 24th April - please contact us to book your
place.
|
|
Tuesday 20th
March
We are still
coming back down to earth after Fruity's brilliant run at
Cheltenham last week! He has options at at Cheltenham, Aintree or
Ayr (the Scottish National) for his final run of the
season.
DYNAMIC IDOL
is entered at Newbury on Friday, he looks great on the
gallops.
We will be
holding a stable visit to see BHELEYF and INTERAKT at Joe Tuite's
yard tomorrow.
|
|
Thursday
15th March
We have
finally come back down to earth after Fruity O'Rooney's heroic
performance at the Cheltenham Festival! What an amazing day and
what an incrediable horse he is! He came so close to winning (in
fact we all thought he was going to win jumping the last) but he
just got beat by his final, and well handicapped , rival. Take
nothing away from the horse however, this was his best run to date
and Jamie Moore (who gave him a peach of a ride) still thinks there
is ore to come from this brave little superstar! Congratulations to
all his connections.
More good
news, Bheleyf had her first racecourse gallop this morning at
Kempton and jockey James Doyle was mighty impressed with her
natural speed and attitude! Should she come out of this exercie
well she could be running very soon! Watch this
space.
|
|
Tuesday 13th
March
Well today
is the big day – 19 of 20 Fruity owners are on their way to
Cheltenham for their horse’s big day. He is in great form, the
ground is ok for him and the left handed track will suit.
Competition is hot but we’re hopeful he can run a big
race.
Hayley Moore
has been riding SOUTH CAPE for the last week – he is really well
and very full of beans - not behaving like a 9 year old at
all!
Joe Tuite
tells us RED YARN’s schooling is going very well and he is
provisionally aiming her at a maiden hurdle at Plumpton at the
beginning of April. DYNAMIC DIOL is penciled in for Newbury on
23rdMarch.
|
|
Friday 9th
March
FRUITY
O'ROONEY definitely has a place in the JLT Specialty Chase at
Cheltenham on Tuesday. He is in great form and does his last piece
of work tomorrow. Unfortunately MOHANAD has knocked himself this
morning and while it is not a serious injury it does mean that
he misses Wednesday's Coral
Cup.
SHAMAHAN and
JUPITER STORM both went well this week and Gary Moore hopes they
are just a month away from some
entries.
Our next
visit to see ROME at Sir Henry Cecil's Newmarket yard will be on
Thursday 19th April. This is for owners and prospective owners of
ROME and will include a day at Newmarket Racecourse's Craven
meeting and an evening at the famous Tattersalls Breeze Up
sales.
|
|
Friday 2nd
March
FRUITY O'ROONEY does not go to
Doncaster tomorrow - the ground is drying out andit would mean
missing Cheltenham, which would be a huge shame when we have a
horse this good!
RED YARN once again failed to fire on
Tuesday - Joe might try sending her
hurdling.
|
|
Tuesday 28th
February
RED YARN runs at Lingfield this
afternoon - she has been really fresh at home so hopefully she will
put her best foot forward today!
FRUITY O'ROONEY has been entered in
the Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster on Saturday. This is plan B in
case he misses the cut at Cheltenham, we will know more tomorrow
when the weights are published.
IL PORTICO has returned to Cisswood.
He looks great and we can't wait to see him in action. Any owners
wishing to visit would be most welcome.
|
|
Saturday
25th February
Eloise was at West Ilsley this
morning with several owners to see IMPERIAL RUBY - it is still
early days in his prep but he looks very well indeed - we have 2
shares available in this very handsome horse, please see the
'shares for sale' page for more details.
I (Sarah) was at Cisswood - I caught
the end of FRUITY's work, (he looked very well indeed) and then met
lots of owners for 3rd lot when we saw JUPITER STORM, SHAMAHAN,
GOOD LUCK CHARM, LIGHTNING SPIRIT and SOUTH CAPE. None are ready
for fast work yet but they all looked really well. The old man
SOUTH CAPE looked very sprightly and the youngsters all went well
too.
Our next visit to Sir Henry Cecil's
yard to see ROME will take place on Thursday 1st
March.
|
|
Friday 24th
February
FRUITY O'ROONEY has been ruled out of
the Racing Plus Handicap Chase on Saturday - it was a tough
decision but with a suggestion of good to firm in the going
description Gary and Jamie Moore have opted to wait for Cheltenham
on 13th March. MOHANAD is also expected to go to Cheltenham,
he is entered in the Coral Cup on the
Wednesday.
Unfortunately TOBAGO BAY has a slight
strain and will not run at either Sandown or Kempton this
weekend.
DYNAMIC IDOL did not jump well enough
at Huntingdon yesterday despite having schooled brilliantly - his
day will come but he looks as though better ground and a
stronger test of stamina will suit him better. He is fine this
morning.
RED YARN will go to Lingfield on
Tuesday, Joe is continuing to school her over hurdles to get her
thinking !
|
|
Tuesday 21st
February
FRUITY O'ROONEY is one of just
fifteen left in the Racing Post Chase at Kempton on Saturday - Gary
will decide this week whether to run or to wait for Cheltenham. He
worked fantastically on Saturday
morning.
TOBAGO BAY has entries at Sandown on
Friday and Kempton on Saturday. DYNAMIC IDOL is expected to go to
Huntingdon on Thursday.
RED YARN will school over hurdles
tomorrow to see whether it reignites her enthusiasm for
racing.
|
|
Sunday 19th
February
DYNAMIC IDOL finished fourth on the
flat at Lingfield on Wednesday and while it wasn't a bad run (he
wasn't far behind some expensive horses with Triumph Hurdle
aspirations) it demonstrated that his future lies over hurdles and
he has been entered at Huntingdon on Thursday. TOBAGO BAY has been
entered at Sandown on Friday, hopefully this time the meeting will
go ahead as racing has been abandoned the last two times he has
been entered.
|
|
Monday 13th
February
After -10 and -11 degree nights over
the weekend the Plumpton meeting today was lost so we will need to
look for an alternative race for TOBAGO BAY. There are options at
Sandown on 24th and Fontwell on 26th
February.
While jumping conditions are so bad
Gary plans to send DYNAMIC IDOL out on the all weather - he has
been declared at Lingfield on Wednesday. RED YARN was entered at
the same meeting but she will go to Kempton on Thursday
instead.
|
|
Friday 10th
February
DYNAMIC IDOL is so well that Gary
doesn't want to wait for the thaw and better ground, he has entered
the horse on the all weather at Lingfield on Wednesday. RED YARN is
also entered at the smae meeting, she will also have the option of
going to Kempton the following day.
We're keeping our fingers crossed for
Plumpton on Monday!
|
|
Wednesday
8th February
Racing at Huntingdon tomorrow has
been abandoned so Tobago Bay has been given an alternative entry at
Plumpton on 13th Feb. Cisswood is under thick snow but with two all
weather gallops Gary is able to continue as normal. Pictures of
some of our horses in the snow are now available on our facebook
page. Sheena West is finding it harder to deal witht he snow up on
the South Downs above Lewes, her horses aren't able to do much more
than canter. She tells us that MOHANAD is in great form though, he
is ready to begin faster work when the snow clears and is on track
for a trip to Cheltenham for the Coral
Cup.
John and some owners went to visit
Rome on Saturday and were very pleased with how the horse was
looking. We will be going again to visit Warren Place on 16th
Feb.
|
|
Wednesday
1st February
DYNAMIC IDOL ran his best race yet to
finish 3rd to Paul Nichols' triumph hurdle hope Dildar at Taunton
yesterday. He was happier on the good to soft ground but jockey
Josh Moore predicts even better on quicker ground. He has shown
that he has a real future hurdling and we're looking forward to his
next outing. Incidentally, he was the second of our horses to be
placed at a big price this week, FRUITY O'ROONEY returned at 22-1
on Saturday, and DYNAMIC IDOL returned at
50-1!
The British Horseracing Authority has
today put on an extra all weather card at Wolverhampton on Saturday
with all of the jumping under the threat of freezing. Joe Tuite has
entered RED YARN in the mile handicap.
|
|
Monday 30th
January
Everyone is talking about FRUITY
O'ROONEY's dramatic 3rd place in the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster on
Saturday! Once again he surpassed all expectations to finish 3rd at
22-1 despite finishing with his saddle on his hind quarters and
Jamie Moore riding bareback. Jamie was distraught because he felt
he had a chance of winning but we are just delighted to see such a
fantastic performance again from our horse. There is a great photo
on the Fruity O'Rooney page.
DYNAMIC IDOL has been declared at
Taunton tomorrow - the ground is good to soft, soft in places but
Taunton doesn't get too heavy and hopefully this ground will be
better than he has met so far. Josh Moore will
ride.
We had a fantastic day at Fontwell on
Friday - 90 owners and guests joined us for hospitality in a
fantastic suite in the new grandstand. The food was lovely, the
racing was competitive and we all had a great
time.
|
|
Thursday
26th January
FRUITY O'ROONEY has been declared for
the £75,000 Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster on Saturday. It is a huge
race and the horse is running off a career high mark of 140 but he
seems to be getting better and better and he is in great form.
TOBAGO BAY is also expected to go to Doncaster for the 2 mile 3 1/2
furlong handicap hurdle on the same
card.
DYNAMIC IDOL was entered at
Huntingdon tomorrow but will not go, the ground is soft and we are
looking for better ground. He is entered at Taunton on Tuesday and
the ground there is good to soft, with dry weather
forecast.
RED YARN is fine after a hold up last
week and Joe Tuite is looking for another race for her. A stable
visit to Joe's to see the KHELEYF 2 year old went well on Saturday
and she will be named this week.
|
|
Friday 20th
January
RED YARN was
due to go to Lingfield today but she was slightly lame yesterday
morning. It is improving already and she should be out again soon.
TOBAGO BAY has not been declared for Wincanton tomorrow because the
ground is fairly testing and over 2 miles 6 furlongs the horse will
need a sounder surface. Gary has his eye on a race at Huntingdon on
9th February. DYNAMIC IDOL missed his intended race at
Lingfield yesterday for the same reason. He will be out as
soon as we get some better ground.
Our next
owner event (following Fontwell's raceday hospitality next Friday)
will be 'A Evening with the Handicapper' at Mannings Heath Golf
Club next to Gary Moore's Cisswood Stables on Tuesday 6th
March.
Dominic Gardner-Hill the head handicapper
in the UK will be present to answer all your questions on how the
handicapping system works and any specific questions regarding
horse's ratings. Race commentator Simon Holt will be the chairman.
This event is exclusive to clients and guests of Heart Of The
South. Gary Moore will be opening his yard beforehand for any
owners that would like to visit their
horses.
Tickets are only £15 and will include
refreshments. All proceeds will go to Moorecroft Racehorse Welfare
& Sussex Air Ambulance. Interest is high so call now to reserve
your place!

Tuesday 17th
January
DYNAMIC
IDOL, FRUITY O'ROONEY and SHAMAHAN all looked very well on the
gallops on Saturday morning. It was a beautiful bright
morning but it was absolutely freezing! Thats what winter
racing is all about though, and all of the owners who came had a
lovely morning. GOOD LUCK CHARM is only walking and trotting, but
he looks amazing.
Gary would
like to send DYNAMIC IDOL to Lingfield on Thursday if the meeting
goes ahead - the course is currently frozen. RED YARN is entered on
the all weather at Lingfield on Friday, Joe will decide today
whether to declare her tomorrow. She was disappointing last time
but has seemed well since.
TOBAGO BAY
has been entered at Wincanton on Saturday - again Gary would like
to send him if the meeting goes ahead. The horse is in very good
form.
SOUTH CAPE
is due back at Cisswood in the next couple of
days.

Thursday
12th January
Our chasing
star FRUITY O'ROONEY has been entered in the listed Skybet Chase at
Doncaster on 28th January. It is a 0-155 worth £75,000 so it is
going to be a hot race! The provisional plan is to go to Doncaster,
then to Newbury for the Racing Plus Open Handicap Chase on February
25th, then to head to Cheltenham for the 3 1/4 mile chase on day 1
of the festival.
We will be
holding a visit to see our KHELEYF filly at Joe Tuite's yard on
Saturday 21st January, when owners in the partnership will be
choosing the filly's name.
IMPERIAL
RUBY is doing well in his trotting work and will be moving back to
Mick Channon's yard on Tuesday. Mick will be very impressed when he
sees how well this horse has done over the winter. ROME moves to
Warren Place to join Henry Cecil's next week from his pre training
yard and we will be taking interested parties to see him on 4th
February.
|
|
Tuesday 10th
January
RED YARN was
disappointing at Lingfield on Friday, she has been very keen at
home but seemed unenthusiastic on the day. This is typical RED
YARN, she can be in and out, but hopefully next time she will be on
a going day! She will have the blinkers back on next time and
is likely to be dropped back in trip slightly. She is absolutely
fine following the race and we will see where Joe wants to send her
next.
Three year
old colts JUPITER STORM and SHAMAHAN are both in good shape,
JUPITER STORM was paid a compliment yesterday by Henry Clay, who we
beat at Brighton in Ocober, winning a decent maiden. Our colts are
only in gentle work at the moment but will be ready to run by the
time the flat season begins in
April.
We still
have places avaialble at our hospitality event at Fontwell's race
meeting on 27th January. It will be really good fun, please call us
now to reserve your place.

Thursday 5th
January
DYNAMIC
IDOL found the ground much to sticky at Huntingdon yesterday
and once he was finding life difficult Jamie Moore allowed him to
coast home. Next time we will wait for better ground, this horse is
better than he has shown so far.
RED YARN
goes to Lingfield tomorrow for her first run for Joe Tuite. She
will be ridden by promising apprentice Charlie Bishop who has
already been to the yard to ride her on the gallops. She has had a
good break from the usual routine since being with Joe and we are
hoping she will be fresh and enthusiastic. She is well handicapped
on her best form and we can't wait to see what she can
do.
|
|
Monday 2nd
January
DYNAMIC
IDOL will hopefully head to Huntingdon on Wednesday for his
second run over hurdles. Unfortunately he missed the cut at Taunton
last week and at Plumpton today the ground will be just too soft.
Declarations for Huntingdon take place
tomorrow.
RED YARN is
entered at Lingfield on Friday as
expected.
Our January
newsletter has just been sent and there is a full update on each of
our horses on the January
News page of
this site.

Wednesday
28th December
What a
fantastic win from FRUITY O'ROONEY at Kempton yesterday! Our little
horse has the heart of a lion and he once again showed enormous
courage to lead all the way in a competitive and high grade 3 mile
chase. As well as netting over £12000 in prize money he also
returned at 12-1 so it was a lucrative day for all concerned. He is
in great shape this morning.
TOBAGO BAY
ran at Kempton on Boxing Day, he led for a long way but paid the
price of going off so quickly, finishing down the field. He showed
all of his old enthusiasm though and there will be other races for
him.
DYNAMIC IDOL
is ready for a second run over hurdles and ought to go much closer
on better ground this time. He is entered at Taunton (30/12)
Newbury (31/12) and Plumpton (2/1), there is also a race for him at
Lingfield on 5th Jan. Gary will let us know shortly which race he
prefers. RED YARN is on track for her first race for Joe Tuite at
Lingfield on 6th.
|
|
Wednesday
21st December
Jockey Jamie
Goldstein felt he was going to win on GOOD LUCK CHARM at Kempton
yesterday but he got swallowed up by speedier types in the closing
stages. He will be well suited by a step up in trip next season to
10 furlongs plus when he will be able to make the most of his
stamina. He will now have a short break before being prepared for
the new turf season.
TOBAGO BAY
is on track for the 2 mile 5 furlond handicap hurdle at Kempton on
Boxing Day and FRUITY O'ROONEY will be entered today for the 3 mile
handicap chase there the following
day.
|
|
Monday 19th
December
GOOD LUCK
CHARM goes to Kempton tomorrow for a median auction maide over a
mile. The horse ran a very good race to finish second last time and
he is very well. We are concerned about the Khalid Abdulla runner
Lancaster Gate, apparently this horse is thought highly of at home
despite only finishing 6th on his only start to date. You can't run
scared of just one horse though, and we'll take our
chance!
|
|
Friday 16th
December
FRUITY has
not been declared at Ascot tomorrow, he will wait for Kempton on
27th.
|
|
Thursday
15th December
Gary Moore
was pleased with DYNAMIC IDOL's sixth place at Folkestone on very
heavy round on Tuesday. We didn't expect the horse to like the
going but he raced keenly and attacked his hurdles well - he would
just be more effective on better ground. He will head to Plumpton
on 2nd or Lingfield on 5th January and ought to go close
then.
TOBAGO BAY
has not been declared at Ascot tomorrow, the ground will not suit
him. He will head to Kempton on Boxing
Day.
|
|
Tuesday 13th
December
DYNAMIC IDOL
goes to Folkestone today in good form but we are not sure whether
the soft, heavy in places ground will suit him. However you don't
know until you try!
FRUITY
O'ROONEY is entered in the 3 mile listed chase at Ascot on
Saturday. Gary will have a close look at the entries before
deciding whether to go to Ascot or to wait for 27th at
Kempton.
|
|
Monday 12th
December
DYNAMIC IDOL
has been declared at Folkestone tomorrow. We're very much looking
forward to seeing him have his first run over
hurdles.
We held
stable visits on Saturday to see RED YARN at Joe Tuite's yard and
IMPERIAL RUBY at Fawley House Stud. We saw RED YARN in action, she
seems very well and has had a complete break from the routine,
leading Joe's yearlings in their hacks around the fields. She is
now back in full training but will go hunting this week for a fun
outing. Joe has a race at Lingfield in mind for her over a mile and
a quarter on 5th January. We also had a quick look at our KHELEYF
filly and INTERAKT. The filly is beautiful and she looks very
powerful. INTERAKT is spending time in the paddocks on a full
holiday but she also looked very
well.
IMPERIAL
RUBY has done really well at Fawley House Stud. He is a very
attractive horse and he has filled out nicely without getting at
all fat! He has been able to spend time in the paddocks since being
gelded and he will start on the walker this week before returning
to West Ilsley and Mick Channon in January or February. There are
new photos of RED YARN and IMPERIAL RUBY on their web
pages.
|
|
Thursday 8th
December
GOOD LUCK
CHARM ran a really promising race to finish second at Kempton
yesterday, he was beaten by a gambled on horse and Tom Queally told
us after the race that our horse will be a nice three year old over
longer trips next year.
DYNAMIC IDOL
has been entered at Folkestone on 13th and will today be entered
for Newbury on 14th.
|
|
Tuesday 6th
December
FRUITY
O'ROONEY has not been entered at Doncaster on Saturday, Gary
decided that there would be no point going all the way to Doncaster
when there are nice races at Ascot on 17th and Kempton on 27th. He
could feasibly run Fruity in both of these
races.
TOBAGO BAY
will be entered at Ascot on Friday 16th
December.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT will now have a winter holiday at Framfield, and will be
brought back for a turf campaign in the
spring.
|
|
Monday 5th
December
GOOD LUCK
CHARM worked well again at the weekend and has been declared for
the mile nursery at Kempton on Wednesday, Tom Queally rides. Gary
has not declared LIGHTNING SPIRIT - while she seems well she has
not quite sparkled as he would have hoped in her latest pieces of
work.
Our new
hurdler DYNAMIC IDOL is going well and Gary has pencilled in races
at Folkestone on 13th or Newbury on 14th
December.
We
will be holding a visit to Joe Tuite's yard on Saturday for owners
of RED YARN, or anyone interested in joining this
partnership.
|
|
Thursday 1st
December
The December
issue of our newsletter is now available, to subscribe please fill
out our website contact form. An update on all of the horses
appears on the December
News page of
thiswebsite.
GOOD LUCK
CHARM has been given a provisional entry at Kempton on Wednesday
and LIGHTNING SPIRIT is entered at Lingfield and Kempton the same
day. All shares have now been sold in our KHELEYF filly with Joe
Tuite and we will soon begin the naming
process.
|
|
Friday 25th
November
We are now
taking bookings for our next Owner Event on 27th January at
Fontwell Park. Our last event at Fontwell was a big success and
this year we will have use of a suite in the new glass fronted
Premier Grandstand. We will hear from a guest speaker and we will
also hold a draw for our recently accumulated winners trophies. The
package includes admission, racecards, a two course hot buffet
lunch and a welcome drink. We have subsidised places for owners at
£25 each, guests will be £55. Please contact Sarah on 07714 170457
or sb@hotsr.co.uk to book your
place.

Tuesday 22nd
November
FRUITY
O'ROONEY looked as fresh as a daisy out on the gallops this morning
and you wouldn't know he had a tough race on Friday. Philip Hide
made sure he didn't do too much but you could see that Fruity
wanted to go a lot quicker! DYNAMIC IDOL worked well, pleasing
Jamie Moore, who said 'he gets better and better the further he
goes'. He is due to go for a racecourse gallop at Lingfield
tomorrow.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT and GOOD LUCK CHARM have both had a course of antibiotics
after coughing a few times but they looked fantastic, LIGHTNING
SPIRIT did a faster piece of work and has not coughed since the
weekend so she ought to be ready for entries soon. GLC has
possibile targets at Kempton on 7th or 4th
Dec.
Joe Tuite
had a parade of his yearlings on Sunday and our KHELEYF filly
looked very well - we now have just one 10% share remaining. RED
YARN has settled in very well there and is due to have a day out
hunting next week. She will really enjoy
that!
|
|
Sunday 20th
November
FRUITY
O'ROONEY put in a heroic effort at Ascot on Friday (as did Jamie
Moore!) to finish a very brave second, giving away a lot of weight
to the winner. His jumping wasn't as fluent as it can be because
the fences are so big for a small horse but despite this he was so
game and he led throughout the race. When the favourite, recent
Cheltenham winner SWING BILL came to challenge it looked like it
was all over but Fruity saw him off, only to be passed by
stealthily ridden PROPHETE DE GUYE. Once again Fruity surpassed all
expectations. He is a very special horse! You can now watch the
race on Fruity's page.
DYNAMIC IDOL
did a very nice piece of work with Gary's recent winner RIGHT STUFF
yesterday morning and he is almost ready to
run.
|
|
Friday 18th
November
FRUITY
O'ROONEY goes to Ascot this afternoon for the 3 mile handicap
chase. The trip will be more suitable than the 2 1/2 miles at
Sandown last time when they were always going a bit quick for him,
putting pressure on his jumping. He still has a big weight to carry
for a small horse though, and it might be a tough ask again today.
He always trys his best though, and will be fitter for having had a
run.
GOOD LUCK
CHARM was disappointing at Lingfield on Wednesday, it is possible
that he is suffering from the slight bug which is going around at
Gary's yard (FRUITY O'ROONEY has scoped clean and doesn't seem to
be affected). Hopefully he was just having a bad day and will do
better next time, we still have faith he is much better than
that.
|
|
Wednesday 16th
November
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT is unfortunately a non runner this afternoon after she
coughed a couple of times yesterday morning. She will have a short
course of antibiotics and will be back in action soon. GOOD LUCK
CHARM is in good form and he lines up in the 1.20pm
race.
Our newest
purchase DYNAMIC IDOL has been schooling very well over hurdles and
will soon be ready to run. John has put a great sequence of action
photos on the website
|
|
Monday 14th
November
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT and GOOD LUCK CHARM have both been declared at Lingfield on
Wednesday, Seb Sanders rides both
horses.
TOBAGO BAY
ran well for a long time at Fontwell yesterday, although the sticky
ground and big weight found him out in the end. It was good to see
him racing with enthusiasm and hopefully he'll be winning again
soon.
FRUITY
O'ROONEY is entered over 3 miles at Ascot on
Friday.
|
|
Friday 11th
November
TOBAGO BAY
has been declared for the Tikram (formerly the Salmon Spray)
Handicap Hurdle at Fontwell on Sunday, Andrew Glassonbury rides.
FRUITY O'ROONEY was entered in the Southern National but 3 1/2
miles under top weight would be hard work for a little horse and
Gary has decided to save him for another
day.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT and GOOD LUCK CHARM are both entered at Lingfield on
Wednesday. It looks like a good opportunity for LIGHTNING
SPIRIT to follow up her Kempton
win.
Details of
our new horses have been confirmed, please see the 'shares for
sale' page for more information. Yearling colt ROME will be trained
by Henry Cecil, DYNAMIC IDOL is an exciting hurdling prospect with
Gary Moore.
|
|
Wednesday 9th
November
John and
Eloise are meeting with Henry Cecil tomorrow to discuss the
prospect of him training our yearling colt by HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR
next year! It would be hugely exciting to have a horse trained by
such a high profile trainer.
Shares in
our Kheleyf filly with Joe Tuite have all but sold out in record
time, and if we can reach an agreement with Henry Cecil tomorrow
then demand in the next partnership could be unprecedented! After
the success of JUPITER STORM and SHAMAHAN this year we will also be
purchasing another yearling to go into training with Gary Moore
this month.
We are also
on the verge of securing a new National Hunt horse with Gary -
details of DYNAMIC IDOL will be available
shortly.
|
|
Tuesday 8th
November
FRUITY
O'ROONEY and TOBAGO BAY have been entered at Fontwell on Sunday.
FRUITY ran at Sandown on Saturday but has come out of the race so
well that Gary has given him a provisional entry in the Southern
National. All three of the horse's novice chase wins came at the
course and he does seem to love it there. TOBAGO BAY is entered in
the handicap hurdle named after Gary's star chaser (and Cheltenham
Festival winner) Tikram. He has been working well since his
disappointing run on the flat at
Wolverhampton.
|
|
Sunday 6th
November
FRUITY
O'ROONEY was always going to find it difficult in a hot handicap
chase at Sandown over 2 1/2 miles at Sandown yesterday. They were
always going a stride too fast for him which put his jumping under
pressure but Gary and Jamie are hopeful he can regain the winning
thread over a longer trip and down a grade in the coming weeks. He
is very happy this morning and has come out of the race
well.
DEUX ETOILES
doesn't go to Hereford tomorrow, unfortunately he has a sore leg.
More to follow.
|
|
Tuesday 1st
November
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT is entered at Wolverhampton on Friday but will not run, Gary
will give her a bit longer before runnning her again after last
week's exciting win.
FRUITY
O'ROONEY is entered at Sandown on Saturday in a 2 1/2 mile chase,
he will neeed the forecast rain to arrive if he is to run.
DEUX ETOILES has also been entered for his first race of the
season, a 2 mile 1 furlong handicap hurdle at Hereford on
Monday.
|
|
Monday 31st
October
Just a short
note to let you know we all survived the 10 mile Great South Run
yesterday! We are all still feeling slightly fragile but we're very
proud of ourselves! Photos to follow soon. Thank you so much to all
the owners who sponsored us, we think in total we will have raised
close to £7,000 for the Tuberous Sclerosis Association. You can
still sponsor us at
www.justgiving.com/indiadamski
Thank
you!

|
Thursday 27th
October
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT ought to have every chance of winning her first race at
Kempton this evening.
TOBAGO BAY
and GOOD LUCK CHARM go to Wolverhampton tomorrow. TOBAGO BAY has
generally been disappointing on the flat and this is a warm up for
a return to hurdling. He is very well though and certainly has the
ability to run well. GOOD LUCK CHARM is dropped back to 7 furlongs
which is a slight concern but he has been in fantastic form since
his fourth last time at Lingfield.
Shares are
now available in our powerful yearling filly by Kheleyf, in
training with Joe Tuite. Please see the shares for sale page for
details and photos.
|
|
Tuesday 25th
October
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT has been declared at Kempton on Thursday and Ryan Moore
takes the ride - our filly hasn't had the best of luck but having
Ryan on board gives her a big advantage and we hope this might be
her day!
GOOD LUCK
CHARM will be declared tomorrow for Friday's race at
Wolverhampton.
FRUITY
O'ROONEY popped over a few schooling fences this morning and jumped
well, hopefully the forecast rain will arrive and we will have
suitable ground for him to go to Sandown on 5th
November.
|
|
Friday 21st
October
It was
brilliant to see JUPITER STORM win at Brighton yesterday. Our
handsome Galileo colt has always shown such promise and he looked
really impressive over the mile trip in this good maiden, staying
on purposefully to beat some nice horses. He was always going to be
a better three year old when he fills out his big frame and in this
horse, SHAMAHAN and GOOD LUCK CHARM we have some very nice 3 year
olds for next season.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT showed at Wolverhampton that she wants further than 7
furlongs and we really hope our unlucky filly can win
soon.
RED YARN
ought to have been given a more patient ride over 10 furlongs at
Brighton and she ran out of steam late on to finish 5th. She is
another who can be winning soon.
|
|
Thursday 20th
October
GOOD LUCK
CHARM ran really well at Lingfield on Tuesday to finish fourth
behind a Godolphin winner. He was a big outsider in the betting
after his disasterous debut at Epsom but this time he behaved
beautifully and he really stood out in the Parade Ring so we were
not surprised to see him run so well. This was effectively his
first race because he got so overrought last time and to be so
competitive against more experienced and well regarded horses is
very exciting. Gary was delighted and is looking forward to running
the horse again in around 2-3 weeks
time.
We have
three runners today, Red Yarn (2.30pm Brighton) Jupiter Storm
(3.05pm Brighton) and Lightning Spirit (9.10pm Wolverhampton). All
ought to have a good chance and with Gary's yard back in form it
could be a very exciting day. Gary had a double at Plumpton on
Monday, and winners at Fontwell and Kempton
yesterday.
|
|
Tuesday 18th
October
GOOD LUCK
CHARM runs at Lingfield this afternoon, he still has a lot to learn
but we are confident he is going to behave better than he did last
time. He is still a bit green and we expect him to improve again
for today's run.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT goes to Wolverhampton on Thursday and Pat Cosgrave takes the
ride, she needs to prove she goes on the all weather but her last
run was an improved effort and she is in good
form.
JUPITER
STORM runs at Brighton on Thursday, he handled the track on his
racecourse gallop and is in good form. RED YARN has also been
declared at Brighton. she missed her race at Wolverhampton at the
weekend when she was off her food but she is much better and is
also expected to line up.
|
|
Sunday 16th
October
MOHANAD ran
a very good race at Cheltenham yesterday, jumping brilliantly and
looking to be in with a chance coming into the straight, but the
weight told in the end and he finished a good sixth. He will now
have a holiday after a busy season where he has won 3 races and
been placed countless times.
RED YARN was
a non runner at Wolverhampton last night because she didn't eat up
the day before and seemed slightly off colour. She has eaten half
her breakfast this morning so hopefully she is feeling better, she
has an entry at Brighton on Thursday.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT missed the cut at Yarmouth on Tuesday so is expected to head
to Wolverhampton on Thursday. GOOD LUCK CHARM goes to Lingfield on
Tuesday, James Doyle rides.
|
|
Friday 14th
October
MOHANAD has
been declared at Cheltenham tomorrow, with the quick ground in his
favour we are hopeful he can finish his very successful season in
style! He was raised a huge 9lb for his win at Huntingdon though,
so this will be much harder. FRUITY O'ROONEY was not declared at
Cheltenham, we are waiting for some rain before he makes his
seasonal return.
JUPITER
STORM and GOOD LUCK CHARM have been for a racecourse gallop at
Brighton this morning, both went well and seemed happy on the
undulating track. GOOD LUCK CHARM holds an entry at Lingfield next
Wednesday and both horses are entered at Brighton on Thursday.
LIGHTNING SPIRIT has also been entered at Wolverhampton on
Thursday.
|
|
Thursday 13th
October
GOOD LUCK
CHARM doesn't run at Brighton today, Gary thinks he could do with
one more week, he will have a racecourse gallop tomorrow (With
JUPITER STORM) and he will run at Lingfield or Brighton next
week.
RED YARN has
been declared for the 9 1/2 furlong race at Wolverhampton on
Saturday and George Baker will ride.
|
|
Tuesday 11th
October
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT ran an improved race at Yarmouth yesterday, she finished a
staying on seventh after finding herself behind a wall of horses
early on. She was gaining on the leaders throughout the final
furlong and looked unlucky not to have finished closer. Gary will
send her to Wolverhampton on 20th for her next run and we're
desperately hoping for better luck for our
filly.
GOOD LUCK
CHARM has been declared to run at Brighton on
Thursday.
RED YARN has
two entries at Wolverhampton on Saturday (15th). Gary has a choice
of a mile or a 9 furlong handicap.
FRUITY
O'ROONEY has been entered for the 3 mile chase rather than the 2
1/2 mile chase at Cheltenham on Saturday, he will not run unless
there is significant rain but both Jamie Moore and Philip Hide feel
that the longer race is preferable for the horse. If the ground is
too quick he could go to Stratford on 22nd or Sandown on 5th
November.
MOHANAD is
also entered at Cheltenham in the 2 mile 5 furlong hurdle. He has
been raised a whopping 9lb for his win at Huntingdon last
week.
THE SHUFFLER
looked fantastic at a stable visit at the weekend, both he and
TOBAGO BAY are almost ready for entries
now.
|
|
Friday 7th
October
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT has been declared at Yarmouth on Monday - she just scraped
in as bottom weight. The trip is a mile and the track is nice and
straightforward so it will be interesting to see what she can
do.
|
|
Friday 7th
October
FREE TUSSY
ran very well at Kempton on Wednesday evening and with a bit more
luck in running would have finished in the prize money. It was an
encouraging effort on his first run back after his holiday and he
is sure to improve for the run too. His next race could be the lady
amateurs race at Nottingham on 28th.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT has entries at Yarmouth and Salisbury on Monday and Kempton
on Wednesday, she has now also been entered at Kempton and Brighton
on Thursday. All of these races have a lot of entries so it makes
sense to enter for all suitable races and see where we get
in.
GOOD LUCK
CHARM has been a lot more sensible since he was gelded and is
very well. He has been entered at Brighton on Thursday,
alternatively he could wait for Lingfield (18th) or Newbury
(21st)
MOHANAD
missed the cut for the Cesarewitch and Sheena will not send him to
Chepstow on Saturday where the ground is soft. He has an entry at
Salisbury on Monday but Sheena plans to take him to Cheltenham next
Saturday (15th) for a 2 1/2 mile handicap hurdle. This is the day
that FRUITY O'ROONEY is also pencilled in for his first run of the
season, so it will be an exciting day!
|
|
Tuesday 4th
October
ROYAL REASON
was disappointing again yesterday, she raced more prominently and
was going well but didn't finish her race well and we are at a loss
to explain the performance.
THE SHUFFLER
worked very nicely this morning in his first bit of fast work and
Gary is very much looking forward to running him. LIGHTNING SPIRIT
went well too, she has entries at Yarmouth and Salisbury on Monday
and there are other races for her next week so we expect to see her
racing again.
FREE TUSSY
goes to Kempton tomorrow in the 6.40pm
handicap.
|
|
Monday 3rd
October
Brilliant
win from MOHANAD at Huntingdon yesterday! Further details to
follow. JUPITER STORM is fine after his visit to Newmarket on
Saturday.
ROYAL REASON
goes to Warwick today instead of Southwell
tomorrow.
|
|
Friday 30th
September
JUPITER
STORM has been declared for the Tattersalls Millions sales race on
Saturday and is one of 16 runners. MOHANAD has been declared at
Huntingdon on Sunday.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT and FREE TUSSY are both expected to go to Kempton on
Wednesday. FREE TUSSY is unlikely to get in at Windsor on Monday.
LIGHTNING SPIRIT is having a second try on the all weather, Gary
puts her poor performance on the surface last time down to the fact
that a lot of his horses were not right, and we hope for better
this time.
ROYAL REASON
will to to Southwell on Tuesday rather than Warwick the previous
day.
We have just
bought a yearling filly by KHELEYF who will be trained by Joe Tuite
- details of this new partnership will be available
soon.
|
|
Tuesday 27th
September
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT didn't finish as close as we had hoped at Ffos Las
yesterday, Eloise was there and she says the ground was
bottomless, far softer than the good to soft we were expecting.
Martin Harley left the filly with a lot to do and she really
struggled in the mud.
JUPITER
STORM is on track for the £500,000 Tattersalls Millions Trophy at
Newmarket on Saturday, its a huge ask but what an exciting race to
be involved in! The horse worked well this
morning.
MOHANAD is
entered at Huntingdon in a 2 1/2 mile hurdle on Sunday. He has been
asked to run in some very competitive high grade hurdle races on
his last few NH starts, this will be an opportunity to run back at
his grade and we hope he'll go very
well.
Entries have
been made today for FREE TUSSY at Windsor and ROYAL REASON at
Warwick on Monday.

LIGHTNING
SPIRIT is on her way to Ffos Las this morning, she has her ground,
the trip should suit and she will be wearing cheekpieces so we are
hoping for a good performance.
We had a
fantastic stable visit at Cisswood on Saturday morning when we had
the rare chance to see all of the HOTSR inmates (bar the injured
South Cape) out for third lot. This included the
jumpers FRUITY O'ROONEY, TOBAGO BAY, and DEUX ETOILES, half
siblings THE SHUFFLER, LIGHTNING SPIRIT and GOOD LUCK CHARM, plus
JUPITER STORM, entered at Newmarket on Saturday, and FREE TUSSY and
RED YARN.

Friday 23rd
September
RED YARN put
in a much improved run on the all weather at Wolverhampton last
night to finish fourth. She raced much more keenly than she has for
a long time and also looked to keep much straighter than she has
done recently.
INTERAKT ran
another cracker at Goodwood on Wednesday, finishing fourth in a
very competitive 0-80 handicap. If the ground had been a bit
quicker she would have finished closer. It has been a very busy and
successful season for this filly and she will now be wound down
over the next few weeks before having a wll deserved
holiday.
SOUTH CAPE
was due to run today but has unfortunately aggravated an old injury
and will need some time off.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT will go to Ffos Las on Monday, she has 2 entries there but
Gary favours the mile option unless the ground gets very
soft
|
|
Wednesday 21st
September.
ROYAL REASON
was disappointing yesterday - we hoped she would run better but she
got very tired in the closing stages over a mile and 7 furlongs.
Its possible that she needs more time after her recent
ilness.
RED YARN
goes all the way to Wolverhampton tomorrow for a fillies' handicap.
It will be her first run on the all weather since she was a 2 year
old and she will run without blinkers in an attempt to re-ignite
her.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT has been working well and has entries at Ffos Las on Monday
and Chepstow on Tuesday.

Monday 19th
September
We had a
lovely day at Newbury on Saturday with the owners of JUPITER STORM.
Our Galileo colt ran very well on his first racecourse start, he
was a bit slow out of the stalls but was quickly up to lead and
jockey Pat Cosgrave was impressed with his lond stride. He got
bumped about and was a bit green when push came to shove, but ran
on very well in the closing stages and will come on an enormous
amount for the run. We can't wait to see him out
again!
MOHANAD ran
another good race to finish fifth in the Cesarewitch trial at
Newmarket. He is high enough in the handicap now but can always be
relied on to try his best. Both horses are fine following their
races.
ROYAL REASON
has been declared at Folkestone tomorrow - she is up in trip to a
mile and 7 furlongs and is in fantastic form. Joe Tuite thinks this
marathon trip could be the making of her. INTERAKT has been
declared for Goodwood on Wednesday. RED YARN will go to
Wolverhampton on Thursday rather than Kempton on Wednesday and
SOUTH CAPE has bypassed Folkestone tomorrow and is entered in the
Silver Cambridgeshire on Friday.

Thank you so
much to all those owners who have very kindly sponsored us for the
10 mile Great South Run on Sunday 30th October. At the time of
writing we have raised well over
£3000.
We are
raising money for the Tuberous Sclerosis Association. This is a
genetic disorder which Eloise's daughter Indi suffers from. Eloise
and Caroline Penny, Indi's dad Luke, Sarah Bell and 5 others are
taking part. We would be very grateful for any further sponsorship
- you can donate at:

Thank
you!

September
SOUTH
CAPE: Has age finally caught up with this 9
time winner? We hope not! He now heads to Folkestone next Tuesday
20thSeptember
over 9½ furlongs.
JUPITER
STORM: Makes his debut in a Yearling Bonus Maiden at Newbury this
Saturday over 7 furlongs. The only worry would be the soft
ground.
GOOD LUCK
CHARM: Has been gelded after a somewhat lively racecourse debut! He
will win before the end of the year and shares are still
available.
INTERAKT:
Now 18lbs higher than in June! Next target Goodwood
21stSeptember
over 6 furlongs.
RED YARN:
Has enjoyed a freshen up, heads to Kempton
21stSeptember
over 10 furlongs.
THE
SHUFFLER: Back cantering!
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT: Back to full health, runs at Chepstow or Fos Las later this
month.
MOHANAD:
Continues his great run of seconds, although we wouldn’t mind a
2nd in the
£50,000 Cesarewitch trail this Saturday at
Newmarket!
FREE TUSSY:
Will run in an Amateur Riders race at
Nottingham on 28 September with Hayley Moore on
board.
ROYAL
REASON: All eyes on this filly next Tuesday at Folkestone
20th September,
expected to go very well.
DEUX
ETOILES, TOBAGO BAY, FRUITY O’ROONEY: All back at Cisswood
preparing for the jump season, stable visit Saturday

Monday 12th
September
JUPITER
STORM has been entered for his first race at Newbury on Saturday -
he worked well on Saturday morning.
MOHANAD has
been entered at Newmarket for the Cesarewitch trial on Saturday, he
ran brilliantly over a mile and a half at Epsom last week and the 2
miles 2 furlongs at Newmarket will be more to his liking. He will
sneak in with a lovely low weight.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT is not taking up any of her entries because she was coped
late last week and is still showing signs of a slight infection-she
will have another course of
antibiotics.
SOUTH CAPE
was disappointing again at Goodwood yesterday, he will be upped in
trip next time because he doesn't seem to have the speed over a
mile now.
|
|
Friday 9th
September
GOOD LUCK
CHARM was a real handful at Epsom yesterday on his first racecourse
outing. He was thoroughly overexcited and demolished a saddling box
before the race and needed several handlers to keep him under
control. Once he got onto the track he failed to settle at all and
threw away his chance. He has been gelded today (poor chap!) and
this should make him much easier to handle. Darryl Holland said
after the race that the horse can win races once he calms down and
he should be back on the track in 3-4 weeks
time.
MOHANAD ran
a great race again to finish second in the jump jockeys derby at
Epsom. He is a remarkable horse and he seems to be improivng
still!
SOUTH CAPE
has been declared at Goodwood on Sunday, he is down to a mark of 71
and he should have his preferred softer conditions so we hope to
see him back in the winner's enclosure.
|
|
Tuesday 6th
September
MOHANAD has
been declared for the jump jockeys race at Epsom on Thursday,
Leighton Aspell will ride. GOOD LUCK CHARM has also been declared
for what will be his first race. We still have a couple of shares
left in this lovely strong 2 year old, and we are offering to give
you your money back if he does not win by the end of the year!
Please contact us for more details.

Monday 5th
September
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT was declared for Newcastle today but unfortunately a blood
test showed that she is fighting a slight infection. There is no
sense in sending a horse all the way to Newcastle if she is not at
her very best, so LIGHTNING SPIRIT is a non runner. She looks great
though, certainly not ill, and we hope to see her out next week
instead.

Friday 2nd
September
INTERAKT
found one too good at Brighton this afternoon - it was another
placed finish to add to her collection though! We will speak to Joe
tomorrow about what might be next on her
agenda.
GOOD LUCK
CHARM has been entered for his first race at Epsom on Thursday -
shares are still available in this promising horse and if he
doesn't win by the end of the year we'll give you the purchase
price back!
MOHANAD has
also ben given an entry at Epsom - the 12f jump jockeys challenge
is a race in which he finished second last
year.
|
|
Thursday 1st
September
The latest
update on all of our horses is now available on the 'September
News' page of this website.
INTERAKT has
been declared at Brighton tomorrow - she carries a 6lb penalty for
last week's win but Charlie Bishop rides, claiming
7lb.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT has entries at Newcastle (Monday) and Lingfield (Tuesday).
There will be more entries to follow as we try to find the right
race and the best ground for her.
It was a
promising return from ROYAL REASON at Goodwood on Tuesday when she
was not beaten that far in a decent maiden. She will come on for
the run and Joe Tuite expects her to be winning a race
soon.

|
Tuesday 30th
August
Thank you to
all owners who attended our summer celebration at Framfield on
Saturday - it really was a lovely day! Owners were able to see
TOBAGO BAY DEUX ETOILES and IL PORTICO and we had a wonderful lunch
(thanks to Caroline Penny and her
helpers).
ROYAL REASON
goes to Goodwood this afternoon, she is really well but this is
very much a re-introduction to racing and she will come on a lot
for the run.
INTERAKT is
entered back at Brighton on Friday.
|
|
Saturday 27th
August
INTERAKT won
her third race of the season last night night at Brighton, she
really is in flying form at the moment and she could be back at
Brighton for a fillies race next week. For more details see the
'our winners' page.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT finished fourth which is an improvement on her previous runs
but we still think she is capable of much better. The softer ground
was to her liking but we think she wants further and also a more
straightforward track. She is entered at Folkestone on
Wednesday.
|
|
Wednesday 24th
August
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT and INTERAKT have both been declared at Brighton on Friday
evening. One wants soft (LIGHTNING SPIRIT) and one wants quick
ground (INTERAKT) so we will be watching the weather with interest.
LIGHTNING SPIRIT has alternative entries next week at Yarmouth and
Chepstow.
FRANKEL's
jockey Tom Queally rode our two year olds JUPITER STORM and GOOD
LUCK CHARM yesterday morning. He liked both horses a lot, JUPITER
STORM is ready to run now and should make his debut in mid
September, GOOD LUCK CHARM had a race pencilled in at Epsom next
week but Tom thinks he will benefit from a week or two more
work.
Our
impressive 2 year old winner SHAMAHAN chipped a bone in his knee
during his race at Windsor last week. This is a great shame because
he looked very smart, he has had a successful operation to remove a
fragment of bone this week and is recuperating well, he will be
back on the track at the beginning of next flat
season.
ROYAL REASON
has been entered at Goodwood next Tuesday, she has moved yards and
had treatment for stomach ulcers since she last ran, she looks very
well and we are looking forward to seeing her back on the
track.
SOUTH CAPE
ran a lacklustre race at Windsor on Monday, we are scratching our
heads about how to bring him back to form.
|
|
Monday 22nd
August
MOHANAD
found the going at Newton Abbot too sticky on Saturday and finished
a tired horse. It was a big ask running him in such a competitive
race but we're sure he would have finished much closer on quicker
ground. He is fine following the
race.
SOUTH CAPE
goes to Windsor this evening for another try at 10f. He didn't
settle over this longer trip last year but we do think he needs
further as he gets older and we hope it will suit him
today.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT and INTERAKT are entered at Brighton on Friday, INTERAKT is
a likely runner while LIGHTNING SPIRIT will only run if we get
significant rain.
Interest has
been high in our latest partnership, GOOD LUCK CHARM is a 2 year
old by DOYEN in training with Gary Moore. Gary is so confident this
horse will win this year that we are offering your money back if he
does not win by 31st December! See the 'shares for sale' page for
more details.
|
|
Tuesday 16th
August
What a
thrilling win from SHAMAHAN at Windsor yesterday! Congratulations
to all his owners, the horse certainly made it look easy! For
further details and a film of the race please see the 'Our Winners'
page.
MOHANAD is
entered at Newton Abbot on Saturday for the valuable handicap
hurdle, Sheena plans to enter him for the Cesarewitch on 8th
October and its trial on 17th September next. There's nothing like
aiming high!
|
|
Sunday 14th
August
SHAMAHAN has
been declared for his second race, at Windsor tomorrow
evening.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT and RED YARN were not declared at Brighton on Tuesday.
LIGHTNING SPIRIT also has an entry at Folkestone on Wednesday but
she needs softer ground so we're hoping for rain. RED YARN is
expected to go to Salisbury on Friday for a lady amateurs race,
Hayley Moore will ride.
|
|
Saturday 13th
August
INTERAKT ran
another brilliant race (probably her best run so far this season)
to finish second at Salisbury on Thursday afternoon. She has gone
up 9lb since her Brighton win in June but seems to be getting
better and better. She is likely to go to Brighton on 26th
next.
SOUTH CAPE
didn't get the ground we hoped for, rain fell elsewhere in Sussex
but unfortunately not over Goodwood! Tadgh O'Shea said he felt
great but couldn't get going in time on the quicker ground, we will
be looking for softer ground and possibly will try upping him in
trip next time.

Wednesday 10th
August
An
update on some of our horses:
SOUTH CAPE:
Runs tomorrow at Goodwood in the 7.05 Handicap over 1mile. Has a
decent record here and off a good mark.
JUPITER
STORM: Continues to impress at home and continues to be entered in
nice races; latest the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy in
October.
INTERAKT:
Runs tomorrow at Salisbury in the 4.50 Fillies Handicap. A hattrick
is on the cards. One share is for sale in INTERAKT for just £250!
Go to Salisbury as an owner and win some prize money! Please
contact Eloise on 0780 9087136 for
details.
RED YARN:
Likely to run at Brighton next Tuesday
16thAugust over
7f.
LIGHTNING
SPIRIT: Entered at Yarmouth next Monday
15thAugust,
expected to run well. Ignore her last
run.
IMPERIAL
RUBY: Does not run at Newbury on Friday due to a
setback.
MOHANAD:
Unlucky not to win at Lingfield again. Now heads to Newton Abbott
for £30,000 Handicap Hurdle on
20thAugust.
SHAMAHAN:
Promising debut 3rd in a
competitive Maiden, now entered for Windsor on Monday
15thAugust.
|
|
Monday 8th
August
MOHANAD goes to Lingfield today with a
great chance. It would be lovely to see him begin a sequence of
wins after having finished second so many
times!
Our
two year old colt by DOYEN has been named GOOD LUCK CHARM and
shares are now available - please see the 'shares for sale' page
for more details. Why not join us on the gallops to watch him in
action? Gary Moore expects him to have his first race this
month.
INTERAKT (Salisbury) and SOUTH CAPE
(Goodwood) are entered on Thursday and IMPERIAL RUBY is entered at
Newbury on Friday.
|
|
Saturday 6th
August
LIGHTNING SPIRIT didn't win as we had
expected at Lingfield yesterday, she didn't seem to enjoy the all
weather surface and we will be running her on the turf next time.
She is better than she has shown so
far.
MOHANAD has been declared at Lingfield on
Monday - he looks to have a good chance of winning at the course
again. SOUTH CAPE is entered at Goodwood on Thursday evening,
INTERAKT is entered at Salisbury on Thursday too. Joe Tuite had
intended to give her a longer break between races but she is so
well he has revised his plans!
IMPERIAL RUBY has been entered for his
first race, at Newbury on Friday. We will have to wait until the
entry in confirmed tomorrow to see whether he will get in as there
are a lot of entries.
|
|
Thurday 4th
August
SHAMAHAN had his first run this afternoon
at Folkestone, he finished 3 or 4 lengths behind the odds on winner
in third and it looked like a pretty decent debut run. It will be
interesting to see where Gary sends him next because he is sure to
have learned a lot.
LIGHTNING SPIRIT goes to Lingfield
tomorrow. As it turned out there was plenty of rain at Brighton but
at declarations on Wednesday Gary was worried that Brighton on
Friday may be too quick. There is no reason why she shouldn't like
the all weather and we're hopeful of a big
run.
MOHANAD wasn't declared at either Ascot or
Newmarket on Saturday, Sheena plans to send him back to Lingfield
(where he won last time out) on
Monday.
|
|
Tuesday 2nd
August
SHAMAHAN is declared for Folkestone on
Thursday but his participation is still dependent on some rain. He
has also this morning been entered for Windsor on
Monday.
MOHANAD has three entries - he stands no
chance of getting in at Ascot on Saturday (for the stayers race at
the Shergar Cup meeting) but could go to Newmarket the same day.
However Sheena has also entered him at Lingfield on Monday and on
first impressions, Lingfield looks like an 'easier'
opportunity.
We are still waiting to see
whether any rain arrives before deciding where to declare LIGHTNING
SPIRIT on Friday.
JUPITER STORM and our DOYEN 2 year old
(soon to be named) worked particularly well this
morning.
|
|
Wednesday
20th July
Fingers
crossed for MOHANAD at Sandown this evening - it will be a damp
evening by the looks of it but the horse does have some good form
in the soft, so we hope he will run
well.
SOUTH CAPE
has been entered at Glorious Goodwood on Tuesday in the mile
handicap, he will also be entered there on Saturday for the 9f
apprentice handicap.
