Another success story for Sheena West

Mohanad is an athletic 4-year old by Invincible Spirit.

Mohanad was originally purchased for £73,500 and trained by MICK CHANNON for Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum.

Once rated as high as 83 on the flat, this horse has freshened up no end in his new training environment with Sheena West and schools very well over hurdles. He ran a blinder on his hurdling debut at Fontwell Park finishing third and then followed up with an easy win at Kempton Park. He looked like he was going to win a listed hurdle at Wetherby in October before getting very badly hampered and he sustained an injury in this race. He has since been running in some valuable handicap hurdles against older horses and has run creditably in the flat too - he nearly always finishes in the winners enclosure! He is now rated 129 over hurdles and is still only a 4-year old. He has had a busy season and we don't expect him to run many times more. His next target is the jump jockeys Derby at Epsom on 9th September and he will go from there to Chepstow on 23rd October for the Silver Trophy Hurdle.

This son of INVINCIBLE SPRIT is well put together and you can clearly see why MICK CHANNON and his bloodstock agent Jill Richardson paid £73,500 for him.

After a respectable flat career, MOHAND is now a winner over hurdles and has matured into a smashing sort.

MOHANAD wins easily!

We promised MOHANAD would finish in the Winners Enclosure on his hurdling debut at Fontwell Park and he did just that! Then MOHANAD went on to win easily next time out at Kempton Park beating the odds on favourite in the process.

MOHANAD (pictured right in the pale blue colours) is seen here working with and as good as TOBAGO BAY, a 4yo, with the rest way behind. TOBAGO BAY'S current handicap mark is 130.

MOHANAD works very easily on the gallops and jumps very well. We think he could be a bit special!
