| Racehorse Owners with Heart of the South
Racing enjoy our popular "Owner Events" which we hold throughout
the year. Family and friends are usually also welcome to join us to
experience an insight into the world of racing. In April we held a
very interesting and educational visit to the National Stud,
Tattersalls Breeze Up Sales and Newmarket Racecourse. Previous
events include 3 days in Dublin taking in Darley's beautiful
Kildangan Stud and the Punchestown Festival, a champagne evening at
Kempton Park, and visits to Darley Stud at Newmarket , Weatherby's
Racing Centre and The Tattersalls 'Millions' Yearling Sales. We
have also enjoyed raceday hospitality events at Kempton and
Fontwell, our annual summer barbeque and Gary Moore's recent open
day. |

Summer
Barbeque at Beggar's Barn Stud,
Framfield
Saturday
27th August 2011
Our annual
summer celebration was a great success. The weather held and
it was lovely to catch up with the 120 fellow owners who attended.
Seeing the mares and foals in the paddock, especially Aunt Ruby's
latest foal by GREEN DESERT added to the fun. We also walked down
to Lin's yard where DEUX ETOILES, TOBAGO BAY and IL PORTICO are
enjoying a rest. They all looked
fantastic.

The National
Stud and Newmarket's Craven Meeting 'Racing Around
Newmarket'
Wednesday
13th April 2011
We had a fantastic day out at Newmarket
with 34 owners, touring Tattersalls, the National Stud and the
Rowley Mile racecourse for day one of the Craven meeting. Not only
was it great fun but we all learned so much about how the horses we
all love to watch on the track are actually produced. Over 80 two
year olds were at Tattersalls for the Breeze -Up sales, there were
plenty of horses there worth more than the average house, and it
was very interesting to hear what some of the experts are looking
for in a horse. We saw stallions, mares and foals at the National
Stud, including our own mare AUNT RUBY and her GREEN DESERT foal
and they both looked a picture of health. We then spent the
afternoon at the races, and some even made it back to Tattersalls
for the evening sales, where we were successful in purchasing a
colt by SHAMARDAL. He has turned out to be a top 2 year in
2011.
It really was a very enjoyable
day.

Gary
Moore Open Day
19th
September 2010
We
were proud to be a part of Gary Moore's first ever Open Day. It was
a big success, all visitors enjoyed themselves and were able to get
a rare insight into how a top racing yard operates. They were able
to watch horses working on the gallops, schooling over hurdles and
fences and to actually meet the horses themselves. The whole Moore
clan was in attendance, including Ryan Moore, champion jockey and
this year's Derby winner. Lots of Heart of the South owners were
there too so it was a great social
occasion!
